I heard that Tom Brady was going to advertise the UGG Boots and my first thought was it still won’t sell to males. After I read this article I thought about it more and maybe it will happen, maybe males will actually start to slowly ware the UGG boots but I really do not think it will be a success or follow through. When I first saw the UGG boots come out I thought they were extremely ugly and I thought to myself I will never ware those but as time went on they became more and more popular with different styles. I kept hearing from everyone how great and comfortable they were so I finally got a pair. What made me change mind was not just because they were in “style” but how unbelievably comfortable they are and how you can wear them with just about everything, so why pass up a comfortable shoe that everyone wares. I have heard so many guys say how ugly they are and the question why do girls ware those things… I think Tom Brady may really like them but he is probably getting a lot of money for advertising it. I think he is a better choice than most people because he’s such a big Fan to most of New England but I still question if it will sell to males. It has been a female shoe for so long that you can’t change it now. UGG’s just don’t seem manly enough.

Apple's New products
We all know that the iphone and ipads and mac computers have been extremely successful in the past and I have brought us into a world of new technology. However I often question when will the products end? First it was the 3g iphone than the 4g now they soon will have the 5g and same goes with the ipads. Each one is better and better but how much better can they really get. The new ipad that is coming out is said to be better and includes new features such as front and rear cameras, allowing video conversation. Steve Jobs believes that the ipad 2 will help apple widen its lead in the market. I think that the technology of the iphone and ipad is great but is it all moving too fast? I feel like once something new comes out a few months later the “newest” is now old. Do you think apple should slow down with the new versions of their products? Is it all happening to quickly?

Fast Food Promoting Health...
I think that fast food places such as McDonalds, Wendy’s and Burger King will always be in competition. I do think that fast food places can get away with whatever they want. Yes McDonalds may have salads to be healthier but the fried chicken and fatty dressing defeats the purpose of a healthy choice. I don’t really think fast food places care about people’s health they are just concerned about what they can market to make more money. Since there are so many complaints now about over weight Americans, fast food places are trying to cut down on the fat and calories but they are still concerned about what taste the best not what is healthy. They are able to turn anything that’s healthy into something that’s not healthy. I believe McDonlads even started selling instant oatmeal with fruit. In my opinion the oatmeal advertisements does not look fresh or appealing to me. I would never get a salad from a fast food lace because I just know by the looks and taste of it, it’s not healthy and not fresh. I do think fast food places should just stick with selling regular chicken instead of friends chicken or wheat buns instead of regular buns.

Fight For your Right to Get the Best Price?
A few weeks ago on the today show they did an experiment to see if consumer would actually fight for there right to get there own price. Watch this video and see how NBC hidden cameras follows consumers as their overcharged for there purchases at checkout. http://www.clicker.com/tv/today-show/fight-for-your-right-to-get-the-best-price-1556419/
After watching this video I was suprised to see so how many people actually did not speak up and I wondered if I would of done the same. A lot of people in the video seemed to be in a hurry especially since the store was loacted in downtown New York but is that really an exuse to be overcharged. This video also points out how many people don't even pay attention to how much they are being charged at the chasier. For instance one customer checked her reciet way after she purchased her t-shirt and didnt even realize that she was overcharged. This was an interesting experiment, and I think if you know you are being overcharged do not be afraid to speak up even if you feel bad. So my question is to you, would you fight for your right?

Would you buy one of the new products from Dunkin', or do you think that they are heading in the wrong direction?
I’m really not a huge fan of dunkin donuts, every since starbucks came along. I would normally choose to pick starbucks for a cup of coffee than dunkin. I’m not opposed to Dunkin I still go there every now and then and have been there plenty times before in the past. I would probably never buy one of their new products such as the new pizza bread sticks. When they first came out with the new snack wraps I even thought that was a little much for dunkin donuts to sell. I just think there is no reason to have lunch or dinner when they are known to have breakfast. It ruins the point of being a breakfast place. I think if they made their coffees stronger and thought of new ways to improve their coffee and other breakfast items they would make a lot more money off of those products than trying to introduce new lunch items. Lunch at Dunkin Donuts, just doesn’t seem right. I also don’t think the new lunch items look good or will taste good. They should just stick to there breakfast sandwiches that everyone loves.

Wendys New Fries
Just recently Wendy’s has advertised the new natural-cut French fries with Sea Salt. Now I haven’t actually tried the fries but a lot of people seem to enjoy them and there were many reasons why. One reason is that some people prefer the skins on their fries much better than just regular. Many customers seem to say it has a better taste and flavor and many restaurants especially fast food restaurants like Wendy’s, burger king or McDonalds’ do not sell them. Another hit seems to be the sea salt the fries are sprinkled with. The fries are revamped fries with 100% russet potatoes cut with the skin and sprinkled with sea salt but why the Sea Salt? According to one article, people associate the salt with good, natural things. They also link it to flavor, “The typically bigger salt granules can add more flavor with less salt”.
The new fries are tastier and better according to most customers but the downfall is they contain a lot more sodium and calories. : 270 milligrams per small order, up from 180. The large has 630, up from 460. "If Wendy's customers care," Nestle says, "they will have even more trouble reducing their sodium intake." However many argue that the key point is not the calories it is that they taste better! The fires are said to be all natural and are cooked with o trans fat but are still containing more sodium and calories.I’m not sure if this product will be successful or not. Since we are recently concerned about how obesity is such a problem in the Unites States than why would we promote a new product that is unhealthier for us? Are you we just trying to repeat to what brought us to this obesity problem which is not caring about how unhealthy it is but just about how good it taste? Wendy’s is the nation’s number 3 fast food chain and has renewed its French fry recipe for the first time in 41 years. I guess I wonder why the change? Can these fries really bring in much more revenue? Also something to think about is if you liked Wendy’s fries before you cannot order them again. Wendy’s only sells there new natural cut fries. This could be saving the company a lot of money. These French fries could be cheaper to make because the skin is still on the fries. They do not have to go through the longer old process. What do you think about the new fries? Will they be successful or not? Why the change of having unhealthier fries? Will this be bad for Wendy’s look?

What are other inventory items that you would like to see Starbucks have? Are there any diet regulations that you may have that Starbucks has not met?
Out of all the years and times I have been to starbucks and purchased a coffee I have never noticed the fact that they do not market in the media! I never realized that starbucks does not have commercials and it came to a surprise to me, the first question that cam e to my mind was well why not? Well from reading this blog starbucks does good job marketing in their own way. It’s almost like they are too good to have a commercial, it’s just not there fit. I think this is another great way for the company to differ themselves from others and attract customers. There uniqueness seems to be working so why pay to have commercials. I can’t say that I can think of any other inventory items right that I would want to see to at starbucks. For now I think they are doing a pretty decent job. I think they are very good with balancing out the choices of being healthy or unhealthy. They have their heavy fatty lattes but they also have there “skinny” lattes. Same goes with the food, they have regular muffins or there reduced fat muffins., regular breakfast sandwich or one with egg white, turkey beacon on a whole wheat muffin.
Starbucks has plenty of choices from beverages to delicious treats which is why I think they are so successful. They recently came out with this new treat called the birthday cake pop which is also just less than 200 calories. They express this treat as a “party for your palate”, a quick sweet treat. Before they starting selling the items starbukcs started sampling them and giving them out for free. I think this was a great marketing tool. It got the customers to try the new item without paying for it and if it’s free who could resist a delicious treat! This way at east they could get an observation if people enjoyed them or not.
